Tim Flanigan  

TIMOTHY H. FLANIGAN was admitted to the practice of law in 1974. Prior to establishing the firm, he was a government law partner in the Sacramento office of the law firm of Nielsen, Merksamer, Parrinello, Mueller & Naylor.

The principle focus of his practice continues to be the representation of corporate clients before the California Legislature and various agencies and commissions of California state government. He served as the Chief Deputy Appointments Secretary to Governor George Deukmejian and was the General Counsel and Director of Government Relations for the California Restaurant Association. Prior to coming to Sacramento over 25 years ago, he was a partner in the San Diego law firm of Bamberg , Flanigan & Flanigan and served as a prosecutor in the Criminal Division of the Office of the San Diego City Attorney.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the California Taxpayers Association and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Sacramento. He also recently served on a special panel of five lawyers appointed by the Director of the California Office of Administrative Law to assist the Schwarzenegger Administration in revamping key sections of the California Administrative Procedures Act. He and his brother, Terrance, co-authored and teach a continuing education for lawyers course entitled “The Art of Persuasion for Lawyers.” He received his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and his undergraduate degree, with distinction, from San Diego State University. He is a registered lobbyist with the state of California.
